Saturday morning i biked from riverwest to my dad's house in germantown and we went to waukesha for this WWII air show, and it was pretty weak. But we ended up going to a firearm show right next door to it.

When I got back I stopped at micaela and josh's house for a minute and hung out with jason and eric for a minute until they started looking at morbid serenity stuff so i went to my room. Then I when i came back downstairs tyler was there, and that was a good surprise.

Tom and tyler and I walked around on the east side like some cool cats and got food and came back home to a porch party that jason had going on. My allergies were getting out of hand so I decided to roll up to TJ's for a bit because I knew he had nerds over. We watched a movie about classic arcade gamers and their pathetic lives now, and then I went home.

Sunday I had designated chill day with tina but we got breakfast at comet with tyler and TJ ended up meeting us up there. We went to the record store, then hung around the house for a bit. Tina and I went to comic book stores, then went to the lake front and read for a while, got food at the co-op and then watched movies. It was the nicest stress-free and most relaxing day I've had in recent memory.

I feel really good right now.

I'm sick of being ignored.

Everyone who isn't a useless junky fuck up won't even hang out anymore... Even when there are plans to do something specific. Now I realize that shit comes up or whatever, but at least fucking tell me. Almost all my friends are younger than me and act older than me. And it's not because they're more mature.

I'm pretty sure I just don't have friends anymore. I mean I know I have a few, and they're the best friends I've ever had... but how about doing shit sometimes? I'm pretty much giving up. I feel unliked.

We used to go to parties, and shows and stuff and not only pay exclusive attention to our own tiny clique.

Maybe these things still do happen and I just don't hear about it. If so, fuck you.

I went to the penalty box show last night and there were at least 3 times as many kids there as there would be at any equivalent hardcore show and they were all going off. Long story short, I had more fun with people who I can't stand and can't relate to at all. Gross.

I'm pretty sure we have no scene because we are boring and we are assholes. We're elitist which ironically enough renders us a dying breed.

If we can't set up more interesting shows, and do a better job promoting them and making them appealing, and have the balls to meet new people and be nice to them, we're as good as dead.

But whatever... look at me talking and not doing.
I went to work today, then to the doctor and worked some more. Then I went and did homework for a couple hours at fuel and came home and played with my toys. I've been playing and learning a lot with my recording equipment lately--there are still a lot of things i'll need to buy though. I have a lexicon omega 4 channel (6 input) audio interface for the computer. I've been using audacity under linux. I'm starting to be able to get real good sounds without even trying very hard. I find that if I don't feel like spending a lot of time fucking around, I can take 3 very different mics and put them against the guitar amp and mix them together for a good tone and presence. Drums are pretty much a breeze at this point too, however, it would be better if I had a mixer (since only 2 channels on the interface are mic, the rest are line). But shoving mics on the line input into my bass drum has actually been working pretty well. As badly as a mixer, though, I really need microphone stands. I have a pretty repulsive configuration of broken cymbal stands + duct tape, etc... It's hard to maintain. You can't get right up on top of the head to catch the resonance, and an overhead/room microphone is pretty far out of the picture. I could try strapping something from the ceiling, i suppose, but I'm really trying to avoid dangling my equipment from ends of cables, etc. If not a mixer, I might consider returning/flipping my interface and buying a better one. But that should probably wait til later this summer when i can afford to start filling up some rack gear. This is what I'm excited about right now though. I used to always fuck around and record myself doing dumb things just for an excuse to record, (and probably because of fear of failure). But I think I'm going to start trying to make a little bit of money on the side doing this if I can get everything i need this summer. I'm also excited about recording myself more seriously now... since I actually own all of the instruments I'd need for once. It's just too bad that I'll never write a song as good as this one.
